Professional Staff:
Scott
Wagner, DPT, OCS,
is co-owner of Pro Motion Physical Therapy. He earned
his Master of Science and Physical Therapy degree
from Marymount University and his Doctorate of Physical
Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia. He is
a board certified Orthopedic Specialist by the American
Physical Therapy Association. Scott brings strong
clinical skills in soft tissue mobilization and structural
integration as well as osteopathic manual medicine
techniques. Working with patients in this manner
brings about significant changes in posture, alignment,
balance, and ease of movement body wide. Scott has
also studied the Maitland technique of joint mobilization
as well as cranial sacral therapy, visceral mobilization,
and muscle energy technique. Prior to becoming a physical
therapist, Scott was both an NCAA swimmer and American
Council on Exercise certified personal trainer. He
enjoys approaching patients on a multidimensional
level; drawing from manual therapy techniques and
his experience in the fields of fitness and competitive
athletics to help patients attain their highest level
of function. Scott enjoys treating orthopedic injuries,
post surgical cases, and chronic pain as well as fine
tuning athletes to help them gain the competitive
edge.
Puja
Charaipotra, PT, OCS, is co-owner of Pro
Motion Physical Therapy. She graduated valedictorian
of her physical therapy class from the University
of Tennessee in Memphis in 1998 and is a board
certified Orthopedic Specialist by the American Physical
Therapy Association. She is currently working on her
post professional doctorate at the Medical College
of Virginia. Her post graduate clinical education
and training has involved an eclectic set of techniques
and schools of thoughts with her focus being on manual
techniques. She is a firm believer in using a hands
on approach through a holistic view to restore joint
and soft tissue mobility with muscle energy techniques,
direct and indirect mobilizations, neuromuscular mobilizations,
and movement education with exercise. She also has
advanced training in back and pelvic stabilization,
ankle/foot rehabilitation, and shoulder injuries.
She does custom orthotics casting. She is an experienced
runner and enjoys yoga and Pilates.
Marge
Kalfon, MPT, has over 16 years of experience in
treating patients with orthopedic, neurological and
vascular injuries. She was awarded a Master of Science
degree from Thomas Jefferson University in 1992. She
has completed post- graduate clinical training for
the treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar conditions
at the McKenzie Institute, the Institute of Physical
Art and the Mulligan program. Her areas of focus are
orthopedic injuries, particularly neck and back, hip
and sacroiliac pain and headaches. She specializes
in soft tissue mobilization and spinal and extremity
mobilization techniques as well as postural retraining
and core stabilization exercises for spinal dysfunction.
Marge has done additional coursework in the area of
womens health specifically for female pelvic
floor dysfunction which includes treatment of women
with pelvic pain, incontinence, and cases of lower
back pain and sacroiliac joint dysfunction which have
not resolved with traditional orthopedic techniques.
Marge lives with her husband and children and enjoys
singing, skiing, and exercising at her gym.
Jennifer
Lewis, MSPT, has been an integral part of Pro
Motion Physical Therapy for more than four years.
She graduated in 1998 from Washington University in
St. Louis where her training emphasized musculoskeletal
imbalances and movement impairment syndromes. She
has furthered her education with training in Orthopedic
Manual Therapy through Michigan State University College
of Osteopathic Medicine. Her background also includes
extensive coursework in addressing biomechanical faults
of the foot/ankle through movement retraining and
orthotic intervention. With her education and experience,
Jennifer structures her treatments with a framework
of manual therapy, postural retraining, and exercise
to restore optimal movement patterns and promote balance
in the musculoskeletal systems.
Stephanie
Gilliam, MPT, OCS, graduated from Shenandoah University
with a Master in Physical Therapy program in 2000.
She is a board certified Orthopedic Specialist by
the American Physical Therapy Association. Stephanies
background includes continuing education that has
focused on hands-on, manual therapy interventions
applied to address multiple musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
Her continuing education coursework has included direct
techniques administered to joints and muscles, as
well as more subtle indirect and movement awareness
techniques. While she enjoys working with many different
types of orthopedic injuries, she has a special interest
in treating shoulder and neck problems. Stephanie
is a new mom to a daughter and enjoys cooking, cheering
for Duke Basketball, and walking her dog, Tucker,
in her free time.
Tammy
Robinson, DPT, graduated in 1999 from University
of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise
Physiology before receiving her Doctorate in Physical
Therapy (DPT) from George Washington University in
2008. Tammy is an ACSM certified personal trainer
and certified in Maitland Manual Therapy. Originally
from Nebraska, she enjoys basketball and traveling.
Karin
Conley, DPT,
graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. She
then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree
from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006.
Since graduating, she has gained experience working
in outpatient orthopedics with a focus on post-surgical
and sports rehabilitation. She has taken courses in
manual therapy, biomechanical evaluation of the foot,
and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. She
combines manual techniques, neuromuscular reeducation,
and therapeutic exercise to help patients reach their
optimal function. Karin is originally from Gaithersburg,
MD and is the middle child of seven children. She
enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis,
and traveling in her spare time.
iJill
Eken, DPT, graduated from the University of North
Dakota in 2007 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Since graduating she has gained experienced in treating
a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. Her continued
studies have focused on neurodynamics in the assessment
and treatment of neural dysfunction and its
relation to the musculoskeletal dysfunction. She also
has training in biomechanical evaluation of the pelvic
girdle. She utilizes experience in the motor control
aspect to ensure optimal stabilization across the
joint using specific muscle retraining. Often, patients
find significant relief of painful joints and greater
ease of movement with these techniques. Jill enjoys
spending time with her family and friends, running,
traveling, and exploring the DC area.
